Solivita® celebrates milestone 3,000th closing

Over the past seven years, Avatar® Properties Inc. and its award-winning active-adult community of Solivita® have had lots to celebrate. The most recent cause for celebration was the community’s milestone 3,000th closing.

What makes the landmark closing all the more interesting is just four months ago the happy homeowner, Susan Michaelsen, was living in Bridgewater, NJ and had no plans to move.

“A good friend of mine was researching Florida on the internet when a friend of hers from the United Kingdom suggested she look at Solivita® because ‘There’s no place like it’,” said Michaelsen, a retired manager and designer of software program for telephone companies.

“My friend and her husband visited Solivita® last December, and when her husband couldn’t make a return trip in January, she asked me if I’d like to go along to keep her company,” Michaelsen said.

“We spent three days looking at different homes and liked everything we saw. What’s funny is I wound up buying a home and she’s still in the process of looking,” said Michaelsen, who purchased an inventory home in the Solivita® neighborhood of Venezia.

“The 3,000th closing in seven years is quite an accomplishment and certainly demonstrates that we’ve successfully created an extraordinary lifestyle and living environment for our residents and active adults seeking a special place to call home,” said Rick Woodley, vice president and general manager for Solivita® which has posted over 3,300 sales since opening in 2001.

Avatar® presented Michaelsen with a Solivita® Sunny Award commemorating the event, a dozen roses, and a $100 gift certificate to Bed Bath & Beyond.
