New Poinciana Post Office to open in time for the holidays

-POINCIANA, FL --- As far as Poinciana's 70,000 residents are concerned, the biggest gift under the tree this holiday season is the new $2 million Poinciana Post Office which opens for business Friday, December 12, 2008."We promised we'd have a new present for Poinciana in December so residents would be able to get their gifts and greeting cards out in time for the holidays," said Ron Branch, official in charge of the Kissimmee Post Office.
The official grand opening for the new Post Office at 4774 San Remo Road is tentatively set for January 15, 2009, according to Branch.
The new 7,270 sq. ft. Mediterranean-style facility, featuring four service counters, 2,000 rental boxes, and 24-hour access, replaces the existing 300 sq. ft. Poinciana Post Office.
"This is a very special day in the growth and maturation of Poinciana, and a huge plus for our residents and our community," said Tony Iorio, vice president of land development for Avatar® Properties Inc., developer of Poinciana and primary homebuilder in the 47,000-acre master planned community in northwest Osceola and northeast Polk counties.
"This milestone event is the result of the hard work and dedication of persons in both the public and private sectors over the past seven years," said Iorio.
Poinciana's new Post Office is located on a 1.9-acre site directly behind the Publix Supermarket which anchors the Promenade Shopping Center at the corner of Cypress Parkway and Doverplum Avenue in Poinciana Towne Center. It joins a growing list of retailers in Poinciana's 100+ acre retail hub that features numerous restaurants and over 100 businesses including a Wal-Mart SuperCenter, a Winn-Dixie Marketplace, the Promenade Shopping Center, and Cypress Courtyards Shopping Center.
Avatar® also is developing Poinciana Office & Industrial Park where national and international tenants currently have nearly four million square feet under roof and over 2,200 employees, many of whom are Poinciana residents.
