Plans announced for the Village Shops at BellalagoSM

Southeast Centers, LLC has announced plans for the development of the Village Shops at BellalagoSM, a $20 million shopping center on 13.09 acres just south of the gated entrance to BellalagoSM, a lakeside residential community being developed by Avatar® Properties on the east side of Pleasant Hill Road.
“The Village Shops will be an upscale retail center with a Mediterranean architectural theme and landscape design that complement the residential community of BellalagoSM,” said Marc Boucher, president of SEC Commercial Realty Group, Inc., leasing agent and a subsidiary of Southeast Centers, LLC with offices in Coral Gables and Boca Raton.
Currently 10 leases are being considered by national and regional tenants, including a major grocery chain, bank and national restaurant chain, Boucher said. Development of the 75,000 sq. ft. center is expected to start in June with an opening expected in the second quarter of 2008 if planning, permitting and construction go as scheduled.
“The center will bring retail shopping closer to home for the many residents living in BellalagoSM,” said Boucher, referring to Avatar’s 1,313-acre award-winning community with over one mile of shoreline on Lake Tohopekaliga.
BelallagoSM, and its sister community, the Isles of BellalagoSM, on the west side of Pleasant Hill Road, are currently home to 1,002 families, while the neighboring community of Poinciana, also being developed by Avatar®, boasts a population of approximately 65,000 residents. BellalagoSM has earned over 30 major design and marketing awards, including Best Master-Planned Community honors by state and local home builders associations.
Southeast Centers, LLC also is developing Solivita® Marketplace which just opened the first 41,000 sq. ft. of business and retail space in the first phase of development. Solivita® Marketplace, which is being developed along the Osceola-Polk County border at Cypress Parkway and Magnolia Ave. in Poinciana, is planned to ultimately encompass 60+ acres.
