Prominent Title’s Mobile Closing Table a unique plus for homebuyers

POINCIANA, FL --- Title insurance orders aren't the only thing on the move at the Poinciana office of Prominent Title Insurance Agency, Inc.In addition to writing a robust 45 orders in just 22 days (February 12-March 5), Prominent also employs a van which it calls its "Mobile Closing Table" that will meet homebuyers wherever they are.
"The van is unique to this area and perhaps the industry, and allows us to go to the customer if they can't come to us," said Betty Dobbie, a veteran of 30 years in the business and president of Prominent that does the bulk of its business with Avatar® Properties Inc., Poinciana developer and the master-planned community's primary home builder.
"The van also is totally wireless which allows us to download lender packages while driving to a location, thereby facilitating the entire closing process," said Dobbie, noting Prominent will go mobile to service customers within a 50-mile radius.
In addition to Prominent's "Mobile Closing Table", the Coral Gables-based company also features "Prominent on Demand" which Dobbie said "is an interactive system on our web site that allows customers to log on and get real time information on their files."
Prominent's 45 orders in just 22 days was a result of a challenge issued by the company's underwriter, Old Republic Title, to bring in 40 orders over a 30-day period.
"We hung 40 signs all over the office, taped them to our computers, had a big 40 balloon anchored in the center of the office, and answered the phones with ‘Thanks for calling Prominent Title. Our goal is 40 orders this month!’," said Dobbie. "Now we may even surpass next month’s goal of 50 before the first month is up."
The 45 orders secured by Dobbie and three other employees is a 60 percent increase over the previous 30-day period (January 12-February 11) when the Prominent office wrote only 28 orders.
"We see things turning for us and are more optimistic about real estate market conditions improving this year," said Dobbie.
