Solivita® set to unwrap The Palms amenity complex this holiday season

Solivita®, the award-winning active adult community being developed by Avatar Properties Inc., is planning to unwrap a huge gift under the tree this holiday season.

It’s The Palms, an upscale amenity complex featuring a large Tuscan-style clubhouse, scheduled to open to Solivita® residents on December 28. A public opening is planned in February 2008.

“In terms of first-class amenities and ambience, The Palms will rival some of Florida’s finest 5-star vacation resorts and will complement the many amenities already available to residents in and around our Village Center,” said John Corners, Avatar’s vice president--administration/lifestyle.

The centerpiece for The Palms is a 19,000 sq. ft. clubhouse that includes a state-of-the-art fitness center with 38 pieces of cardiovascular and strength training equipment, a 3,200 sq. ft. aerobics studio with tongue and groove wood floor, a residents’ business center with high-speed internet access and copy and fax services, a members’ club room with large-screen plasma TV and baby grand piano, a catering/staging kitchen, and a large multi-purpose room.

We’ve included all the bells and whistles to meet the needs of our residents who enjoy being active and love to socialize. It’s the daily way of life here,” said Corners, noting Solivita’s® more than 5,600 residents currently participate in over 70 clubs and organizations and more than 100 weekly activities.

The Palms also will feature a host of outdoor amenities including a 4,000 sq. ft. heated lap and splash pool, two heated whirlpool spas, two lighted championship tennis courts, two lighted boccie courts, four lighted pickle-ball courts, a large pavered deck illuminated for nighttime use and events, a fireplace piazza, and a social gathering deck.

Amenities at The Palms will complement Solivita’s® extensive roster of existing amenities highlighted by two 18-hole championship golf courses at the Stonegate Golf Club, and its dynamic Village Center that features the award-winning 32,000 sq. ft. Riviera Spa & Fitness Center where residents can participate in 30 classes in water, land and specialty fitness, and enjoy state-of-the-art strength training machines and cardiovascular equipment for all types of users and all levels of physical fitness. The spa and fitness center also has an aerobics studio, indoor running track, a heated indoor swimming pool, and a resort-style outdoor pool.

Existing amenities in Solivita’s® Village Center also include the 17,000 sq. ft. Starlite Ballroom; three restaurants; the Waterfront Galleries where residents can participate in classes in sculpture, calligraphy, ceramics, crafts, pottery, stained glass, and watercolor; and Freedom Park which has five lighted tennis courts, five lighted pickle-ball courts, and a championship-caliber softball diamond.   Two lighted tennis courts also are available in the community’s Venezia neighborhood.
